The
Miniature and Toy Shar-Pei have recently gained in popularity. As they are
pure-bred Shar-Pei they can be registered with both the American Kennel Club (A.K.C.)
or the United Kennel Club (U.K.C.). Their size, which is below the standard for
the Chinese Shar-Pei, eliminates them from being shown in Conformation events
conducted by either organization. The Miniature Chinese Shar-Pei Club of
America allows for both the registration and exhibition of both below standard-sized
Shar-Pei. For more information on the M.C.S.P.C.A. see their website at

A Shar-Pei is considered a Miniature if it does not exceed 17 inches at the withers
excluding wrinkles.
A Shar-Pei is generally considered a Toy if it is 15 inches or smaller at the withers
excluding wrinkles.
Note: All of my dogs weigh between 28 and 35 pounds.
